A process for charging bicarbonate to a dialysis liq. of a haemodialysis appts. comprises carrying out the bicarbonate addn.and the dialysis concentrate addn. successively with the bicarbonate addn. connected in series to the dialysate addn. and so that bicarbonate mixes with the incoming water. Pref. the bicarbonate concn. can be regulated independent of the haemodialysis concentrate container and its dosage. Bicarbonate can be added to the dialysate directly, during the dialysis treatment, without the pptn. of scale and so that the bicarbonate concn. can be regulated to the patient-specific optimal physiological level.
