The compact master brake cylinder for dual hydraulic brakes has a first piston which is hollow to accommodate the internal spring while the compensating valve linking the fluid reservoir with the cylinder is at the input end of the master cylinder and has a long bore in the wall of the cylinder. The link between the input and main pistons is telescopic and incorporates a control valve. The master cylinder has a short length and requires only short travel. The telescopic coupling between the pistons allows sufficient piston travel to operate the compensating valves. |
