<p>Fine sludge, which is formed when nitriding iron and steel in a fused salt bath, is removed from the bath by taking a portion of the salt bath from the bottom of the tank by a suction pump and subjecting to filtration in a unit. The cleaned bath portion is recycled to the fused salt bath in the tank, the exit of the filter unit being located above the tank. Method eliminates the use of a bottom-operated immersion type filter and reduces salt losses.</p> |
