The flap, is incorporated in a fume extraction cover over a kitchen cooker, and it is adjustable in position by a link. An additional link is connected to the implement, such as the extraction hood, and the flap is connected to part of a telescopic rod the other part of which is hinged to the implement. A link guide rod is hinged on one side to the flap and on the other side runs along the tracks of the links using two cams. The flap tension is released by a spring, a pivot lever and a rod. The positions of the flap are fixed by holes in the link.
