Flue with auxiliary air-intake, esp. for laboratory use - reduces intake of expensive air-conditioned atmosphere whilst preventing pollution of atmosphere

The ventilation openings (29) which provide a secondary ventilation are mounted along the front edge on the service side of the table top (3) so that the introduction of a non air-conditioned partial stream from the lower edge of the gate (17) into the working area of the flue stabilises the flow in this area which subsequently reduces the min. air throughput required whilst maintaining an optimum flue action. There is practically no air swirl in the working area of the flue which ensures the air does not return to the atmosphere. Only a small part of the air-conditioned atmosphere is drawn into the flue from the laboratory which means a saving in energy costs.
