PURPOSE:To realize the detection for the magnetic substance regardless of the size of the magnetic substance, by providing the magnetic field detector having the directivity in the right-angle coordinates axial direction and then giving the operation to the output magnetic field component of the detector. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic field detector X is attached vertically to the area under horizontal acrylic plate 1. And small magnet 4 is put on plate 1 and in parallel to direction X and then shifted toward X to be shifted sequentially from the area on axis X toward direction Y to be then shifted toward X. In this case, the directional cosines l, m and n of magnetic efficiency M to axis X, Y and Z feature l=0 and m=n=0 each since efficiency m is turned toward X. And maximum value HZmax of magnetic field component HZ of axis Z features 48M/(25X5<1/2>XZ<3>); while magnetic field component HX of axis X features M[(3X<2>/r<5>)-(1/r<3>)]. Then the ratio is obtained between HZmax and HX to obtain the side distance. Accordingly, the detection becomes possible in case the magnetic substance passes through a fixed range of the side distance from the side of the detector and regardless of the size of the passing magnetic substance since the value of the ratio can be satisfied even with use of the small magnet having the different magnetic efficiency. |
