METHOD FOR BLOWING PLASTIC POWDER TO BLAST FURNACE

PURPOSE: To stably blow plastic powder and to lower a fuel ratio by specifying a relation between the ratio of the smallest bore of a plastic powder-blowing piping and the grain size of the plastic powder and the ratio of a powder flow rate to gas flow rate. CONSTITUTION: The plastic powder is transported to a tuyere by adjusting the relation between the pipe diameter ratio a which is the ratio of the smallest bore of the plastic powder-blowing piping to the average grain size of the plastic powder and the solid-air ratioγwhich is the ratio of the flow rate of the plastic powder to the flow rate of the gas for blowing the plastic powder so as to satisfy the equation:γ<0.24α-0.48. The plastic is preferably adjusted to about 0.5 to 7mm in the case of a granular form and to about <=0.5mm in the case of a powder form. The amt. of coke or the amt. of the pulverized coal to be blown is decreased by blowing the plastic powder.
