PURPOSE:A gas composition having a limited expanse of burning and so being free from danger, which is suitable for welding and cutting, comprising a specific acetylene, butadiene, propylene and propane. CONSTITUTION:There are mixed (A) 10-23wt% of at least one acetylene selected from the group consisting of methlacetylene, vinylacetylene and ethylacetylene, (B) 7-17wt% of butadiene, (C) 0-25wt% of propylene and (D) 35-83wt% of a liquefied petroleum gas containing at least 80wt% of propane. As compared with propane gas or propylene gas, the gas composition requires less oxygen consumption, and is more resistant to blowing-out of the flame. Also, the gas composition can provide a high cutting rate and good operability because of satisfactory combustion rate and temperature. In cutting metals, the texture of the cut metals is good, and so, sagging is eliminated. |
