PURPOSE:To reduce the printing time in the case of continous driving while preventing the reduction in the use life of a head by increasing the power impressed on a thermal head as desired, in a thermal printer used in ticket vender or the like. CONSTITUTION:With a printing on a commutation ticket instructred by the operation of a push button 14, a main control unit 13 reads the required information from a letter memory 7, feeds the information to a printing data transfer circuit 8, and turns a printing mode FF15 on the reset R. As a reslt, a signal is fed to a voltage change-over circuit 3 through an inverter IH, a transistor QH becomes conductive, and a high voltage VH is fed from a power source unit 4 to a thermal head 2. Simulatneously, the output Q of the printing mode FF15 is fed to a printing speed change-over circuit 9, pulse signals FH are fed to the circuit 8 and a motor driving circuit 10 through an NOR circuit NO, and printong is conducted at a higyer speed than in the case off a low voltage. Change-over to high voltage and high speed is conducted only at the time of a continuous printing. |
