PURPOSE:To print on ordinary paper with a small printing pressure by a method wherein a thermosoftening ink is applied to an ink ribbon, and the ink is transferred onto recording paper by means of a heated printing member. CONSTITUTION:In the case of the picture-element printing system, a heating wire 5 for heating a wire 1 is coiled around the outside periphery of a wire guide 4 which holds the wire in a slidable condition. Printing is conducted by heating the end face 2 of the wire 1 to a predetermined temperature, then supplying a current to a coil 11 to move the wire toward a platen, and transferring onto recording paper 8 the termosofetning ink 7b applied to the base material 7a of an ink ribbon 7. In the case of the type drum system, a type drum 20 is provided therein with a heating portion, which is fed with power from outside through brushes 23 and electrodes 22, to heat the types 21 on the drum 20. In this way, a large force for pressing a printing member is unnecessitated, resulting in reduced noise as well as reduced wear of the printing member and the like. |
