<p>Tiles are carried by a horizontal conveyor belt through the lower part of a cabinet, which has a sump for collecting surplus glaze. The cabinet contains a stack of distributor discs mounted on a hollow shaft rotated by a motor and sloping downwards in the opposite direction to that taken by the moving tiles. A tube feeds the glaze into the hollow shaft so a fine spray is thrown outwards by the discs due to centrifugal force. Cabinet is fitted with fume extn. pipes; and hollow shaft pref. slopes downwards by 10-50 degrees. Shape of the cabinet, and several gutters inside the cabinet, prevent unwanted drops from falling onto the tiles so uniform glazing is ensured.</p> |
