PURPOSE:To obtain a high-precision signal converter having resolution of (n+1)- number bits, by providing an absolute value circuit and a polarity deciding circuit in the input side of an A/D converter and by combining outputs of the A/D converter and the polarity deciding circuit. CONSTITUTION:Not noly 0-100% in the positive side but also 0--100% in the negative side are regraded as 0-100% in respect to an A signal input by passage through absolute value circuit 3, and this signal is converted to D signals MSB1- MSB10 by A/D converter 2. D signal PSB0 obtained by deciding the polarity of the A signal input is outputted from polarity deciding circuit 4. The one-side output of converter 2 and the output of circuit 4 are combined to obtain a D signal of resolution of n-number bits for A signal input 0--100%. Then, both outputs of converter 2 and the output of circuit 4 are combined to obtain a D signal of resolution of (n+1)-number bits for A signal input + or -100%. |
