<p>Composite sections, comprising at least two metal sections and between these a hardenable plastic foam, are produced in a device in which two facing conveyors provided with a means of temporarily gripping the metal section lead the sections at a set distance apart through the device. Sealing belts, which travel round with the conveyors, bridge the gap between the metal sections during the foaming and hardening stages. These sealing belts ensure that the exposed plastic surface has pore- free skin. The gripping facility on the conveyors is exchangeable and therefore the kind of composite section which can be produced on such production equipment is not limited by the way the conveyor engages the sections.</p> |
