A process and a device for treating surfaces. Such a device consists of a roller 1 made of hard and rough material and movable about a shaft 2 rotating in the ends of a horseshoe support 3 integral with a bearing knob 4 and a manoeuvring handle 5. The device is applied to the surface to be treated and imparts thereto the image of the asperities present on the surface of the cylinder 1. Application to the manufacture of reproduction wooden furniture or old metal objects.
