<p>Apparatus for feeding and cutting off slide fastener ladder as it is sewn directly to fabric includes on a base plate 70 a pair of parallel blades one of which, the feed or indexing blade 92, is loosely mounted and biased downwardly, and the other of which, the cutter blade, is rigidly mounted so that when the assembly is depressed downwardly to its fullest extent, the feed blade yields and cutter blade severs the ladder. A cam arrangement 160, 150 is provided to drive the assembly in a rectangular path to engage the ladder element-by- element, pulling it through the sewing station, and an override 170 is provided to momentarily stop the back-and-forth movement of the assembly, at which time a depressor 220 urges the assembly downwardly to accomplish the aforesaid severing action. <IMAGE></p> |
