<p>The system adjusts the vertical position of a movable ship's wheelhouse (3,3'), this being swung by means of an arm about a fixed point. The wheelhouse can be mounted between two arms hinging on the ship under the action of a drive mechanism, hinges being included to keep it horizontal during arm movement. The hinges can be five-point ones, each arm being actuated by a hydraulic ram. One of the arms is coupled by a five-point hinge to the wheelhouse, forming a mirror image of the other arm. The two five-point hinges are coupled by a linkage to give the same angular velocity.</p> |
