PURPOSE:To sufficiently prevent darkening by covering the getter material in a lamp by a film which is acidproof and can be dispersed through discharge. CONSTITUTION:A getter material 2 is formed, covering the surface of an electrode 1 through sputtering method, and then, on siad getter material, thin film oxidation preventing layer 3 is formed in lamination by the same sputtering method. The process for manufacturing lamp is carried out by the normal procedures. As the getter material 2 is covered and protected by the oxidation preventing layer 3 in the lamp manufacturing process, the getter material 2 does not absorb impure materials. After lamp completion, if lamp discharge is performed, the darkening preventing layer 3 is sputter-etched, and the getter material 2 appears, and absorbs umpure materials. |
