<p>1,247,473. Pressed bodies. R. JETZER. 19 Jan., 1970 [6 Feb., 1969], No.2546/70. Heading C3N. A method for the production of pressed bodies comprises subjecting domestic, agricultural and forestry refuse to form an aerobic fermentation substrate which latter is dehydrated and sterilized to form a dry fibrous granulate of fine structure and of a water content of less than 10% by weight whereafter said fibrous granulate is mixed with a synthetic resin binder and pressed into a pressed body. The aerobic fermentation substrate is dehydrated and stabilized by heating the same to at least 80‹ C., preferably to 110‹ C. in a flow of hot air. The synthetic resin binder may be a urea-formaldehyde which may be admixed with a dye or pigment. Other optional ingredients are fire-proofing agents, insecticides, fungicides or thermoplastic materials. In an example the resin treated fibrous raw material is placed in a thickness of 7 cm. on a laboratory plate press preheated to about 130-140‹ C. and compressed for 12 minutes at a constant pressure of 30 kg./cm.<SP>3</SP> to produce a plate having a thickness of 1À5 cm.</p> |
