NEW MATERIAL:Prophthadial A having the following characteristics: elemental analysis, C 71.60+ or -0.3%, H 7.63+ or -0.3%, O 20.87+ or -0.3%; molecular weight, 386 (by mass spectrometry); melting point, 260-262 deg.C (decomposition); specific rotatory power, [alpha]D<25>=-54.6+ or -10 deg. (c=1, methanol); practically insoluble in benzene, petroleum ether, water, etc.; slightly soluble in chloroform; mederately soluble in ethanol, etc.; easily soluble in dimethylsulfoxide, negative to ferric chloride reagent, etc.; positive to 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine reagent, etc.; weakly acidic; slightly yellow color when crystallized. USE:Remedy for hyperlipemia caused by arteriosclerosis, especially for hypertriglyceridemia. PROCESS:The objective substance is prepared, e.g. by culturing Stachybotrys chartarum IFO 30797 strain (FERM-P No.5032) in a medium at pH4-8 and 23-30 deg.C for 3-8 days. |
