The invention concerns a dam for preserving river bank routes, dwellings and premises in general or the like and water reservoirs from being flooded with detergents and pollutants. This dam is built in the ground, characterised in that it comprises a trench (50) dug in said ground, said trench comprising an opening at said ground level, flexible and preformed bellows (2) made of a watertight material, a lid (4) for at least partially covering said trench opening, first means for sealingly connecting a first edge of the bellows to the internal wall of said trench, second means for connecting a second edge of the bellows to said lid and, means for controlling the displacement of said lid between said opening level and a level located above said ground.
