The system for mounting and immobilising hollow vertical support posts (2) for partition panels (7) comprises a connector (11) which can be immobilised on a lower section (3). This connector has an upwards directed external projection (13) into which is fitted and centred the post bottom end. A second connector which is immobilised in an upper section (4) comprises a clamp which is clipped (23,24) onto this upper section. The clamp is locked on the top end of the post and the section by a flexible arm (22) which penetrates through the top of the post. The arm contacts a locking bolt (31) which passes through a tapped bore (32) in a second rigid arm.
