FIELD: granulated materials. SUBSTANCE: invention concerns new granulates based on sodium or potassium cyanide. Granulates of alkali metal cyanides currently available are composed of irregular particles and are inapt to resist to be powdered and agglomerated. Alkali metal granulates are virtually abrasion and agglomeration resistant. They are mainly in the form of spherical particles with diameter within the range 0.1 to 20 mm and having bulk weight above 600 g/cu.dm, abrasion below 1%, and caking value as high as 4. Granulates may be prepared via pulverization in alkali metal fluidized bed, by way of sprinkling aqueous cyanide-containing solution onto alkali metal nuclei in fluidized bed, and by water evaporation.
