PURPOSE:To reduce noise from an engine, by using an oil pan composed of a fibrous layer and oil-tight layer covering both sides of the fibrous layer. CONSTITUTION:An oil pan 11 is composed of a fibrous layer 12 and oil-tight layer 13 covering both sides of the fabrous layer 12. The fibrous layer 12 is made of organic or inorganic fibers mixed with phenol resin and a cross-linking agent (formalin, for example) and formed into a shape of oil pan, by means of a hot press, so that it causes a cross-linking reaction. The oil-tight layer 13 covering the fibrous layer 12 is made by coating the fibrous layer 12 with oil- and heat-resistant synthetic resin such as polyethylene for preventing engine oil from permeating into the fibrous layer 12. |
