Cylindrical intervention grenade, partic. tear-gas grenade, comprises at least a block with a central channel of an active pyrotechnic compsn. which can be ignited with an igniting compsn. inside the grenade. The block is located in an outer housing which can be opened by the thrust of the combustion gas. The grenade is provided with an igniting plug located on the rear end of the grenade. The improvement is that the igniting compsn. forms a projection in the central channel of the blocks and obstructs at least partly that channel through which flows the thermal flux generated by the igniting plug. The design avoids the use of an annexed internal pyrotechnic charge while improving the stable combustion of the block.
