The brake consists of a single filiform element (20) shaped so as to form an "8" open at one end. This element comprises two end sections (23, 23') provided with hooked irons (27, 27') and two sections (24, 24') parallel with each other. These sections (23, 23', 24, 24') are connected by means of two intersecting and inclined sections which are inserted into channel-shaped seatings which are also slanting. The closed spiral, formed by the two parallel sections (24, 24') and a central section (25), is provided with a pressure plate (26). When the brake is in the inactive position, this plate (26) is pressed by the boot towards the ski, which elastically deforms the element (20) in the region of the intersecting sections. In the event of the boot coming out of the rear binding (10), the entire element (20) returns into its inclined position with respect to the ski, said element being made of a resilient material such as spring steel for example. <IMAGE>
