The decorative band is used for prodn. of decorative bows etc. which are formed by pulling on a smaller pull band held on the decorative band. The decorative band is led together with the pull band and there are edge weakening points at fixed intervals along both band length edges. Within the area of the edge weakening points the pull band is fixed length adjustable relative to the decorative band. The edge weakening points consists of at least two slot shaped cut outs (4) positioned transverse to the length axis of the decorative band and the fixing of the pull band (2) on the decorative band (1) is carried out by a sewn thread loop (3). The cut outs (4) extend either vertically or at an incline to the band length axis.
