<p>A relatively nonvolatile, high molecular weight corrosion inhibitor and inhibitor carrier produced by activating a dialkyl disulfide oil by the addition of a relatively high molecular weight aliphatic amine (e.g., a fatty amine, particularly the N-alkyl-1,3-propane diamines) and optionally further increasing the molecular weight by the addition of elemental sulfur, which exhibits corrosion inhibition on its own and in combination with a conventional oil base corrosion inhibitor additive. Such a composition is particularly useful in sustaining a liquid film forming phase at bottomhole conditions for high temperature, high pressure gas wells wherein essentially no petroleum condensate phase exists. </p> |
