Rubber mouldings are vulcanised using a horizontal autoclave to take a large batch loaded on a tracked carriage. The autoclave has a pressure door at each end, the tracks extend beyond each end, rigid supports are above the track inside, and the feed carriages have a lifting loading surface. System permits rapid operation with minimal pauses, plant therefore loses minimal heat and saves energy, carriages are minimally exposed to corrosive vulcanisation atmos. and hence have long life.
