Automatic tuning system for transformation network - measures real part of impedance to determine relevant range of impedance

The tuning system has an impedance measuring device also determining whether the real part of the complex impedance is equal to the given impedance or greater or less than the constant real part of the complex impedance of the wanted impedance value represented by an R line in the complex impedance plane. Range logic determines in which of six specified ranges of the complex impedance plane the given impedance lines. Tuning is then initiated depending on which of the six ranges is involved.
