Drum washing machine friction damper - produces differential damping effect by friction ring and friction lining
摘要

A friction damper for the vibration of rotating appliances such as front-loading drum washing machines consists of a spring loaded disc with a rim which rotates with the machinery. A U-shaped sliding ring which holds a friction lining ring has a smaller coefficient of friction on the disc than the friction lining on the stationery face which it contacts. Under normal conditions, the sliding ring will thus slide down until it rests on the rim of the disc and only little friction damping is produced. Excessive resonant vibrations force the friction lining to move and produce a much larger damping effect.
