PURPOSE:To close a chuck with a uniform pressure and to stretch a material correctly, by a method wherein a specially structured clamping metal and seat are located at a fulcrum of a plurarity of nip type chucks divided in a stretching direction, and closing and opening are controlled by means of a common shaft. CONSTITUTION:Guide levers FX', MX', FY' and MY' guide a plurarity of nip type chucks FX1-4, MX1-4, FY1-4 and MY1-4 divided in a stretching direction. Said levers are constituted such that they are of a spline shaft or of a shaft having a long key so that a rotary tightening metal 24 located on the guide lever can slide freely in the axial direction but the rotation of a lever shaft can be transmitted to the metal 24. The metals 24 of a great many chucks can be brought inpt press contact with and be detached from their respective seats by rotating rockably the metals through the working of levers FX', MX', FY' and MY', and rocking of a servo 29, which turns the shaft levers FX', MX', FY' and MY', permits the simultaneous and automatic operation of a great many of the chucks. A tightening face metal 32 is placed on the end of the metal 24, and a spring 34 functions such that it allows the face metal 32 to make contact with the outside of a sample 28 and it pulls outwards the sample 28 as the chuck closes. |
