PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a dashboard-housed car navigation unit that a unit fixed to the body of the car can an operation display unit can surely be attached to and removed from each other. SOLUTION: In a dashboard-housed car navigation unit comprising an operation display unit 5 and a storage unit storing the operation display unit, the storage unit has a base unit 2 secured to the body of the car, an inner unit 3 put into the base unit 2 from in front in such a way as to be freely taken in an out, and a mount unit 4 put into the inner unit 2 from in front in such a way as to be freely taken in and out and to which the operation display unit is freely removably attached. The mount unit 4 has a mounted state detecting mechanism part 42 which inhibits rotation of a lock arm when the operation display unit is not mounted on an operation display unit mounting part.
