PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sense an ink bridge formed between a gate electrode and a head part. SOLUTION: The electrostatic ink-jet recording apparatus is provided with an ink chamber 8 filled with an insulating ink 2 including charged toners, a discharge part connecting the ink chamber 8 with the outside, a recording electrode 5 present in the vicinity of the discharge part which discharges toners outside by impressing a pulse voltage to the toners, and a migration electrode 4 present at a side face opposite to the discharge part in the ink chamber 8 for concentrating the toners to the discharge part by an electrophoresis phenomenon. Moreover, the apparatus has an ink-storing part 1 for storing the ink 2, a circulating part which connects the ink camber 8 and ink-storing part 1 by an inflow passage 16 and an outflow passage 17 and circulates the ink 2 by an ink feed pump and an ink discharge pump 3, a gate electrode 9 having an opening at a position corresponding to each recording electrode 5 in an extension direction of a leading end of the recording electrode 5, and a bridge sensor 13 for measuring a current flowing in the gate electrode 9. |
