Microorganism culturing device and method.

A device for culturing microorganisms includes a vessel (1) having a mouth (3) for containing a culture medium (9) and a stopper member (4) for hermetically sealing the vessel (1). The stopper member (4) is provided with a through-hole (7) on its peripheral wall for communicating with the inner atmosphere of said vessel (1). An annular groove (8) in the stopper (4) prevents blow-offs by engaging with a projection (3a) of the vessel wall. A reduced pressure can be maintained in the vessel for suction of samples.

The vessel is suitable for aerobic and anaerobic cultures of microorganisms.
