PURPOSE:To heat hoop coils uniformly in radial direction, by, in the annealing of tight coils of hoop in batch annealing furnace, making a layer of atmosphere gas residence at the outer surfaces of coils by means of a steel plate cylinder installed at the outside of the coils. CONSTITUTION:Plural tight coils of hoop 2 are piled up inside an inner cover 5 placed in a batch annealing furnace 1 with interposition of compacter plates 7. The tight coils 2 are heated by the combustion heat of a burner 4 through the inner cover 5. The hoop coils 2 are placed in a steel cylinder 8 placed on the compacter plates 7. A space 9 made between cylinder 8 and the outer surfaces 2a of the coils 2 forms a residence layer 3 of atmosphere gas. The presence of the residence layer 3 prevents the projection of the convection heat, radiated from the inner cover 5 heated by the burner 4, to the outer surfaces 2a of the coils 2 so as to restrain the quantity of heat transferred from the outer surface 2a thereby heating uniformly the coils radially. |
