The invention concerns a compartment of the type which is part of a lumber sorting mill, for example, and which contains at least two flexible support elements forming the bottom and sides of the compartment in the form of bands, for example, and which can be unrolled and rolled up, and which can be detached at one end to enable emptying of the compartment. In order to reconstitute this type of compartment, the entire band length has to be rolled up before the free ends of the bands can again be fastened to form the compartment, and therefore it takes a relatively long time to reconstitute such compartments. In order to reduce the time of reconstituting the compartment, the invention proposes the arrangement of a boom 25 which is moveable after the releasing of the band ends from the fastening mechanism 17 in order to transfer the bands 10 hanging down from the band drums 11 to the fastening mechanism, before the ends of the bands are permanently engaged with the fastening mechanism 17 by rolling up the band on the drums 11. <IMAGE> |
