The invention relates to a drill tool 4 preferably for a self-propelling percussion machine for driving holes. The drill tool 4 comprises a housing 7 with rock-breaking wedge members 9 whose cutting edges are radially arranged at one end surface of the housing 7. The wedge members 9 are separated from one another by means of grooves 8 which are formed in the housing 7 and which open outwards and merge into the side surface of the housing 7 and are intended to remove broken-up rock. At least one part of the housing 7 directed towards the bottom of the drill hole is cylindrical, while the grooves 8 are formed along helical lines and intersect one another such that those parts of the housing 7 situated between the intersecting grooves 8 form the wedge members 9. Projections 10 on the wedge members 9 are arranged such that when they are projected on the cross-sectional plane of the housing 7 they form a continuous circular trajectory and are intended to form the walls of the drill hole.
