PURPOSE:To enable the handling of manual insertion feeding in the manner similar to automatic feeding by automating manual insertion feeding and so constituting the same that continuous copying may be done by required number of sheets. CONSTITUTION:The number of sheets of the paper inserted through the manual insertion port is read by the signal from a photo sensor 16 and is displayed to permit copying of required number of sheets. In addition, sheet-by-sheet copying is feasible as well. In the case of the front copying in both-side mode, sheets of paper are stoked in an intermediate tray 17 in the route of (a), (b), (d) and in the case of back side copying, they are discharged in the route of (e), (a), (c). Here, when copying paper 35 is inserted through the manual insetion port where there are no sheets of transfer paper of the sizes desired to be copied in upper and lower cassettes 3, 4, the number of sheets of the paper is automatically read and is displayed by a CCD33. Thereupon, when a required copying quantity is keyed-in, the continuous copying is done by that quantity and the surplus sheets of paper are taken out through the insertion port. In this way, the manual insertion feeding may be handled in the manner similar to automatic feeding. |
