PROCESS FOR PRODUCING OXIME COMPOUND

A process for efficiently producing an (E)-oxime compound from a dialkyl oxalate and an organomagnesium halide without the need of a complicated separation operation, characterized by: (a) reacting an organomagnesium halide represented by the general formula (1) ArMgX with a dialkyl oxalate represented by the general formula (2) (CO2R<1>)2 (wherein R<1> is C4-8 alkyl) to obtain a alpha -ketoester compound represented by general formula (3); (b) reacting the resultant alpha -ketoester compound with an amine compound represented by the general formula (4) R<2>R<3>NH in a C4-8 alcohol as a solvent to obtain an alpha -ketoamide compound represented by general formula (5); and (c) reacting the resultant alpha -ketoamide compound with hydroxylamine hydrochloride in a C4-8 alcohol as a solvent to obtain the target (E)-oxime compound represented by general formula (6).
