PURPOSE:To realize the continuation of an image by laying part of an input image in an area on a screen where no input video information resides. CONSTITUTION:Video information with a constant area is inputted to a memory being quantized. Lateral axial addresses 0-m-1 and logitudinal axial addresses 0- n-1 are read out in sequence to reproduce an image on the raster scan system. At this time, the image is possible expanded or shrunk in reproduction by adequately thining the read. On shrinkage, an area which can not be applied with the information, i.e., a kind of gap is generated on the output screen. For the purpose, when upper limit U and lower limit L of lateral axial addresses are read out, information on sides of the shrunk image is read and supplied to areas B and C with no information by extending. A video with excellent continuation can therefore be obtained. |
