The mechanical deformation of an element is determined by extensometer gauges when a load is applied to a cable attached to a weighing pulley. The construction avoids application of torsional strain on the mechanical element. A weighing pulley comprises an exterior ring with a channel for a cable to turn it. The ring pivots around a hollow body on balls of a bearing path. The cheeks (4,5) of the pulley are bolted to the hollow body and a support shaft is keyed to the hub which is fixed to a beam (9). The beam carries a gauge (11) via a pivot (12) while its foot is fixed to the side cheeks through a pivot (13). The gauge carries the extensometer gauges which measure deformation and hence the load.
|
