Foam-cored insulation panels are made by developing a foaming resin within a relatively large mould cavity (e.g. 1-4m3) subdivided by pendant partitions comprising pairs of rigid or flexible boards or sheets which can subsequently be parted to become integral covers for adjacent slabs of the cast foam. A simpler and cleaner preparation of covered panels is provided c.f. sawing of large solid blocks of foam into thin slabs to which separate covers are subsequently attached or bonded. Panels may have cores of phenolic, polyurethane, polyisocyanate, polyester, ureaformaldehyde or other thermosetting foams and covers of metal, fibreboard or plastic sheet, of fabric or of metallised film.
|
