<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently remove organic solvents by contacting a solution of sulfolane serving as an absorbent with a gas containing organic solvents vapor. CONSTITUTION:By contacting a gas containing the vapors of organic solvents such as 0-dichlorobenzene, phenol and xylene with a solution of sulfolane (tetrahydrothiophen-1,1-dioxide), the organic solvents are absorbed by the sulfolane which is used preferably with the water of 5-10wt.% added thereto to permit a safe removal of the organic solvents.</p> |
