<p>Decorative effects are produced on boards made from layers of resin bonded particles by superimposing local patterns of resin impregnated powders on the board profile prior to its curing and impressing the fine particles flush with the board face. For modifying the appearance of chipboard or particle board by partially overlay with coloured sawdust, to produce patch, swirl or grain effects more simply than by mounting and laminating prefabricated veneer covers. Typically the basic board has a three- or five-layer structure with a core of coarse chips coated with layers of coarse and fine powders with suitable resin binders, produced by a conventional progressive layer superposition system.</p> |
