The cross-country vehicle comprises a lower watertight hull with heavy-section wheels at the sides. It is covered at the top by a flat horizontal plate, the latter extending above the wheels at the sides. The plate has five openings, one for the driver, one at the front, two at the side for access to chests etc. and one at the rear for access to the power unit. The plate can comprise three or more hinging panels, below which the hull is partitioned to form three or more chests. The seats can be mounted on air cushions and adjustable to suit the weights of the driver and passengers.
