<p>A toy with optically generated effects enables observation of phenomena with a physical basis, e.g. the growth of crystals, tension in bodies etc., as well as man-made fibres and biological preparations. The phenomena are presented as colour and shape toys also useful as educational aids and as sources of ideas for graphic designers. It comprises housing (1) in which objects may be placed directly or on carriers (6) and contg. an observation lens (4), a polariser (10) and an analyser (3). Either the polariser or analyser is rotatable about the optical axis. The objects or object carrier slides are inserted into a guide (12) closed at one end (13). The lens can be axially adjusted using a threaded fitting (5) which also contains the analyser.</p> |
