New pharmaceutical compsns. contain 1,2-diphenyl-4-(2-phenylthieothyl)-pyrazolidine-3,5-dione (I) or its salts with bases and are in suitable unit doses for administration of a daily dose of =1g. They are used for treatment of cardiovascular troubles, esp. the treatment of thrombotic troubles by inhibiting the aggregation of thrombocytes (blood platelets). (I) is pref. administered orally in unit doses of 50-200mg. as tablets, capsules or dragees to give daily doses of 2, pref. 0.25-1g. for a 75 kg. adult, but may also be administered by rectal or parenteral routes.
