Selector-cam operating mechanism for flat-bed knitting machine - having cam operating push-rods controlled by electromagnetically-operated latches

Selector cams for a flat-bed knitting machine with an opposed pair of needle-beds and circulating cam-carriages are controlled by a pair of push-rods which can be moved longitudinally against the pressure of a spring by a common rocker-arm. With each push-rod is associated at least one fixed and one controllable stop, the latter being able to restrict the return movement of the push-rod. A connecting lever joins the two push-rods kinematically to their associated selector cam. The lockable push-rods, acting as an intermediate short-term store for the pattern-selection information, allow the selection mechanism extra working time, permitting the speed of the knitting machine to be increased. The mechanism is simple, and cheap to construct.
