Motorised door windows in automobiles are provided with fuel interlocking and are insensitive to lubrication condition. The window glass has a main mouting block (32) that provides a sliding support for two interlock bars that are centre pinned on a second carriage. The carriage is moved by a cable that passes over three pulleys, one of which is cabled to the output shaft of an electric motor drive shaft. With the window in the closed position, the interlock bars are retained by catches that are springbiased. Only when the motor is activated to cause the carriage to move downwards do the interlock bars slide clear of the catches.
