摘要 <p>During the rapid closing stroke of the movable crosshead of a multi-daylight, chipboard press and the simultaneous closing motion of the hot platens, the guides retract out of contact with the platens which are moved by a closing mechanism, and are prevented from slipping out of line, lengthways or crossways by the guides at the corners of the press. The guide rails lift off parallel to the slide pad of the platens. On change over to the slow approach, during the phase in which contact is made with the workpieces by the platen above them, the guides are positioned with a definite adjustment relatively to the minimal guiding clearance and the holding power. During the densifying stroke after the switching to the pressing cylinders from the previously active lifting cylinders, the guides are again retracted. During the workpiece unloading and recharging phase, the guides are once more set to the minimal guiding clearance between the slide pads and the guide wearing strips. It improves the guiding of the platens so that heavy wear due to uneven loading of the material to be pressed is prevented and the lifetime of the guides is extended. The guides can be adjusted so that the platens are positioned more accurately.</p>
